High Protein French Toast

I love a good French toast for breakfast. You can make it more filling/satisfying by using whole grain bread and protein powder. You can omit the protein powder though if you dont have it! This recipe is inspired by a similar one on the Centr app.

Serves: 4
Time: 15-20 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 TBS vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon)
  • 8 slices whole grain bread

Toppings:

  • Maple syrup
  • Fresh berries, banana or peaches

Method

  1. Prep the Batter: In a shallow dish that you can dip bread into, whisk together the milk, eggs, protein powder, and pumpkin pie spice.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Heat a large skillet on medium heat.
  3. Soak and Cook: Add a slice of bread, one at a time, and soak both sides. Place the bread on the skillet and cook for about 3 mins on each side, or until golden and toasted.
  4. Serve: Serve the toast with maple syrup and berries, or with your favorite toppings.
