Homemade Granola Bars
These granola bars are better than store-bought because they are made with more nutritious ingredients, such as chia seeds, peanut butter and flax, and has less added sugars. I got this recipe off of Facebook from the Hutton Girls Homestead, but added some of my own tips!
Serves: 10-12
Time: 10 mins, 30+ mins to chill
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 TBS chia seeds
- 2/3 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Method
- Mix: Place all ingredients into a KitchenAid mixer and mix on medium speed until well-combined.
- Prep the Pan: Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper. Scoop the granola mixture into the pan and spread in a flat, even layer.
- Chill and Serve: Let the granola bars chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 mins to set. When ready to eat, cut individual bars and wrap them in a small piece of parchment paper to hold while eating. Leave the rest of the pan in the fridge to keep them solid.
